------  COVID-19 Team Haas Judo Jiu-Jitsu Support Donation  ------

We are in an unprecedented time. Texas Governor Greg Abbott issued an Executive Order to close ALL Schools and Gyms until May 4th, which has been extended in to mid-May or later. This has forced us to immediately cancel all scheduled classes and close the Dojo until the Executive Order is expired or until Governor Abbott opens back up the economy.

Quite a few people have reached out to me specifically wanting to donate money to the school because they know Martial Arts schools provide a service that you cannot find at any regular gym.

They also know that I do NOT have binding 3rd Party Contracts that lock people in like most Martial Arts schools. This means that every month I have to earn the business of any student, which is not the norm for most Martial Arts schools. I have always taken this approach because I know how negatively impacted people are when they are locked down by a Martial Arts school and some collection agency is constantly calling wanting payment. This ruins people's view of Martial Arts schools and prevents them from continuing to explore, learn, and train Martial Arts.

Since I do not have any staff and I do 100% of the work at the Dojo on top of being a single parent homeschooling my 2 kids, I am always working. This sometimes means staying at the Dojo until Midnight cleaning after classes or working on management tasks and projects until 3:00am.

The Stimulus that was passed by the US Gov is geared towards businesses with employees and Payroll. The promise to have Rent, Utilities, etc forgiven through Small Business Administration (SBA) Loans is also a non-starter. This is because the SBA Application does not allow you to input any information outside of Payroll Costs and Number of Employees and stipulates that only 25% of anything outside of Payroll will be forgiven, but that doesn't matter because you can't enter that information anywhere on the application anyway. I do not qualify for any of these loans.

Despite all of the promises from Congress, the rent is still due. The utilities are still due. I never ask for help even though I should.

Through a lot of thought and consideration, I have decided to put this "item" up for sale.

I am not a Non-Profit Organization, so any donation is likely to not be tax deductible. If you want to donate more than what is listed, just do it via changing the quantity.

Ultimately, I would much rather prefer for you to purchase a Private Lesson or Sponsor First Responder Training. I believe that money should be earned. I have a number of people that are taking advantage of the discounted CVD-19 Private Lesson that is good to purchase now and use after everything is back to normal.
